Lake County is raising a generation of children who will not know how to swim. Many will have a lifelong fear of the water.

More children ages 1-4 die from drowning than any other cause of death and it’s the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for children ages 5-14, according to the CDC.

 

Over 70% of Lake County residents work in the resort communities in neighboring counties. These folks do not have the time, money, or transportation to get their children swim lessons.

Renovating the aquatic center will serve an urgent need for this community's health and safety.
